Lifestyle
The Mind-Body-Spirit connection is very real and important to our health.
From a medical perspective this connection can be seen through the “placebo effect”.
A person can physically make their symptoms improve if they “believe” they are
doing/taking something to help their physical body. There are many interesting
works published by MD’s and psychologists linking diseases to certain emotions
and thoughts generated by the person. The Chinese have believed this for thousands
of years. (please see article: A physical means to process emotion)
As a health care practitioner I spend a lot time educating my patients on ways
to keep a balance in their life. I often recommend exercise, meditation, yoga,
therapy, etc to stay healthy on both physical and emotional levels. True vibrant
health can only manifest when one is emotionally balanced, as well as physically
healthy.
For mental well being I collaborate with psychologist Julie Olson, Ph.D, and Marriage
and Family Therapist, Jennifer Rowe of Rancho Santa Margarita Solutions.

For body, mind, spirit health I recommend yoga and meditation at Lotus 7
Yoga and Pilates Studio in RSM. www.lotus7yoga.com
For physical health and strengthening, I collaborate with Brett Gove of Cross
Fit and/or recommend pilates, both offered at Lotus 7 Yoga and Pilates studio.
Good health is not only a blessing, but also something that is earned and
respected by an individual. I am eager to help all my patients achieve this
in whichever manner works best for them and therefore promote the integrative
medicine model.
In good health,
Dr. Lopes
