There are 4 types of headaches:
• Vascular
• Tension
• Traction
• Inflammatory

Migraines are the most popular vascular headache.

From a Chinese medical perspective, acupuncture is used to unblock the meridians which are blocked/congested causing the headache.
Diagnosis is based on the location of the headache and the pertaining organ system affected, rather than just the type. Results are usually immediate and the frequency of occurrence is greatly reduced with continuous visits.
Many patients are able to stop Western pain medication for their headaches.

If the root of the problem is addressed, more often than not, patients can have permanent relief from their headaches/migraines.
